28.02.2018

The representatives of the KNRTU-KAI have attended the Polytechnic Institute of Bari within the context of the Erasmus+ program.

Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev – KAI has been cooperating with Polytechnic Institute of Bari (POLIBA), Italy, for many years. Italian professors visited our university to deliver lectures and conduct research, while the students of KNRTU-KAI were studying in Bari during one term within the context of the Erasmus + (Inter-Institutional agreement. Academic years 2016-17, 2017-18 between institutions from Program and Partner countries). The representatives of the Office of International Affairs of KNRTU-KAI attended Italian university in February.

Dr. Alsu Gilmetdinova, the Head of the Office of International Affairs, and Ms. Gulnara Gabdrakhmanova, the Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Academic Mobility, talk about their trip:

“The main goal of our travel is the development of relations between KNRTU-KAI and the Polytechnic Institute of Bari, with which we have contracted a memorandum of understanding. Cooperation between the universities originated thanks to the long professional, scientific and human friendship between two professors: Guido Maione (POLIBA) and Ravil Nigmatullin (KNRTU-KAI). They have been conducting research and writing scientific articles together for 10 years. At the moment they are developing the project of creating cooperative virtual laboratory, which will allow the researchers to use the infrastructure of both universities, to meet each other and to find projects. One of the project which is on process now is the analysis of the olive oil features with the help of professor Nigmatullin and his colleagues’ elaboration.

The second goal is to broaden collaboration in the sphere of students and teachers’ mobility in the context of Erasmus+. Prof. Ravil Nigmatullin and Dr. Timur Ajupov have already taught in POLIBA and some of our students – Lusina Alexandra, Morozov Arsenij have also studied there for the whole term. Italian professors – Paolo Lino and Guido Maione have delivered lectures in KNRTU-KAI. We are also waiting for the new colleagues from Bari – Doctor Marco Grande and the member of the International Affairs office Luiza Nasta. Moreover, two students of master’s program will come on 22nd February – Giuseppe Giannino and Alessio Tedesco. They will be studying in the Institute for Radio-Electronics and Telecommunications and attending courses of professors Nadeev, Morozov and Sidelnikov.

Finally, the last purpose of our visit is to strengthen scientific relations, create joint educational projects, dual degrees of master’s programs with due regard to the advanced experience of the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies (GRIAT), attract Italian students and broaden relations with other Italian universities on the ground of the Polytechnic Institute of Bari.

During our visit we have inspected more than 15 laboratories, met the head of the Telecommunications and Information Engineering Department, managers of laboratories, members of International Affairs Office and linguistic center.

The rector of Polytechnic Institute of Bari Prof. Eugenio Di Sciascio managed to hold a meeting with us. We said a few words about the Republic of Tatarstan and its potential, presented KNRTU-KAI and its scientific progress, suggested a program of double and triple degree. The rector approved these ideas and told about the opportunity of searching for co-financing from Bosch Company.

Professor Eugenio Di Sciascio expressed his hope for meeting with the rector of KNRTU-KAI and invited him to POLIBA.

We were greeted very warmly and paid a lot of attention. We are thankful for Italian professors Guido Maione, Paolo Lino and Marco Grande for the eventful and exciting program and warm welcome. We are looking forward for our Italian colleagues to come! Dear professors, if you are interested in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Bari, feel free to apply to the Office of International Affairs.
