The Second German Film Festival Opened in Kazan

The film festival that introduces the audience to German culture was organized by the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies (GRIAT).

On Thursday, March 21, 2019, the second German Film Festival in Kazan’s “Mir” cinema gathered a full house. The opening was attended by the director of “TatarKino” Milyausha Aytuganova, the  Goethe Institute films archive officer (Moscow) Irina Goncharova, Siemens Vice President Martin Gitzels, GRIAT project manager at the Technical University of Ilmenau Frank March, GRIAT Directors Sven Rost and Alsou Gilmetdinova, Head of the German language center GRIAT Claudia Ulbrich.

 

 

“Toni Erdmann” opened the festival. The director tells about the personalities that are often unbearable. This is a very tense, but at the same time extremely exciting and insightful movie. This year there are seven films in the program, which are a vivid example of high-quality German cinema. The festival presents films - nominees for prestigious awards "Oscar", "Golden Globe", BAFTA. Spectators will see seven feature films and documentaries on German social issues and the German-speaking regions in the past and present.

 

 

The festival was organized by "TatarKino" with the support of the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies KNRTU-KAI and the Information Center of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Kazan. Films are represented by the Goethe Institute, the general partner of the festival - the official representative of “Siemens” in Kazan.
